Getting Started

On this page and linked pages, you'll find a wealth of information and quick guides to help you get started with your webhosting account.

Using Your Control Panel

To log into your control panel, point your web browser to http://www.yourdomainname.com/cpanel. Obviously, change your domain name to your website's domain name. You will be prompted for a username and password. Go ahead and punch in the one you were given in the confirmation email. If you have forgotten your username or password, email us through the Contact page.

Important Things to Do in cPanel: Please change your password upon first login. If you'd like, change it every few months to insure that your account is secure and safe.

Using FTP to Transfer Your Files

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is the standard way to upload files to your website. Open your preferred ftp client and punch in ftp.yourdomainname.com. Use your username and password given to you after signing up. Usually, you'll be placed into the root level of your account. Files for your website should be placed in the public_html folder.

Accessing Your Webmail

Each account begins with one base email account that is your username at your domainname (i.e. username@domainname.com). You can use this account, but for security purposes, it's recommended that you create another one to use as your main email account (if you need to). You can access this email account by going to: http://www.yourdomainname.com/webmail. Just like using cPanel above, punch in your username and password. You can also access your webmail from within cPanel.

Other Email Accounts: If you do create other email accounts, accessing webmail works just the same - with one small hitch. When logging in, use the full email address as your username, like webmaster@yourdomainname.com.
